A product lifecycle management (PLM) system is a software system that integrates data, processes, business systems and people in the design and sourcing of fashion products. It manages a central repository of product information, manufacturing details and collaboration capabilities.

Axind PLM+ is a PLM system with more functionality than your typical PLM. Hence the “+”. There are different flavours of the PLM for retailers or brands, and for manufacturers or sourcing companies, which means that you are sure to find a solution that works for your company amongst what we offer.

We’ve rounded up a few of our customers’ favorite features of Axind PLM+ to discuss in this blog post:

1. PowerPoint®-style line sheets

Making customer presentations usually takes a sales team anywhere from 1 to 3 days. The team has to collect pictures per colorway, format them and then create a presentation from them.

This was a tiresome problem for Pivot Apparel LLC, a New York-based fashion company. After adopting Axind PLM+’s line sheet program, their workflow for customer presentations has become a lot easier and quicker.

Their sales team can now easily drag and drop a selection of style colourways and generate a PowerPoint® presentation from it, ready to send to a customer. And that too within 30 minutes!

2. Collection planning

Before a collection is created, it needs to be visualized. How do you do this? And how do you see the balance of colourways for a brand, or between tops and bottoms for a theme?

MS Mode, a Dutch fashion retailer operating over 200 stores, faced these issues when planning their collections. Enter Axind PLM+’s “Collection Plan” feature.

Designers can now visually map out their whole collection, including the colorways, and visualize the color balance per brand, theme, product group, etc.

3. Request-for- Quote (RFQ) functionality

How do you get the best price from your suppliers? Asking multiple vendors for prices takes far too much time. America Today, a Dutch fashion store chain, had this problem.

They solved it with the RFQ functionality in Axind PLM+. They now set up a “reverse auction” process, in which they send selected vendors the possibility of making a quotation for a given style. They can then compare the vendor inputs, and choose the best price.

4. Flexible Techpack creation

Each garment needs a Techpack and creating Techpacks takes time. The designers at Garcia, an international jeanswear brand, were spending 1 to 2 days on each Techpack. Each designer had their own way of presenting the information. To further complicate matters, the information from the garment technicians needed to be combined with the design specifications, which was not always well-coordinated.


Using Axind PLM+’s Techpack creation tools, Garcia was able to build rules for the generation of Techpack specifications. This meant greater coordination of information, including that of the garment technicians, and a speedier method of generating Techpacks. Designers were able to make Techpacks within 1-2 hours!

5. Multi-language labels

This same jeanswear brand, Garcia, sells their products in many different countries. This means their garment care labels need to be in multiple languages.

Their old way of doing this was this: the texts were prepared and then sent to the printer. The problem was that the designers couldn’t specify the design of the labels beforehand, causing a lot of to-and-fro communication. This wasted a lot of time.

The solution? Axind PLM+’s special multi-language wash care label form. The wash care labels are created in selected languages (including Chinese, Arabic and Russian) in perfect, printable formats.

6. Vendor integration

A lot of work that vendors can do is often done by the buyer teams in companies. This is what Gruppo Coin, Italy’s leading apparel retail group, was facing.

Axind PLM+ solved this with vendor integration. The vendors can now view, download and confirm their orders online. Vendors can also view and download the product Techpacks and fill shipment details in when they ship goods.

The buyer teams no longer have to manually email orders and Techpacks and fill in shipment details.

7. Responsive e-commerce fields

A problem commonly found on e-commerce portals is that different products have very different fields. For example, trousers have a waist size and inseam length, whereas t-shirts have a sleeve-length.

Arvind fashions, an Indian textile manufacturer, faced this issue for their many types of products. They have solved this with Axind PLM+’s dynamic article forms, which can have dynamic fields which change per product group.

8. Excel®-enabled BOMs

Creating and editing Bills of Materials (BOMs) takes a lot of time. Often, multiple articles need to be changed in the same way. Garcia, the jeanswear brand, wasted a lot of time daily doing this manually. Axind PLM+ solved this for them by making it possible to change multiple BOMs in one go using Excel® input.

9. Dynamic article forms

A big issue designers face is that they don’t like to use systems and they don’t like filling in a lot of data. This was one of the complaints of the designers at Pivot Apparel LLC.

Enter dynamic article forms. Axind PLM+’s article forms change as the status of an article changes. This means that in the initial stages, the designers only need to fill in a few fields, making their work a lot easier.
